NEW YORK, NY - MARCH 25: Composer, songwriter and performer Gabriel Kahane at his home in Brooklyn, NY on March 25, 2013. .Kahane is a 31-year-old composer of the 'indie-classical' genre who has two performances coming up in Washington D.C., one sponsored by the Library of Congress in which he appears in recital with another composer/performer, and one with the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra; he's their first composer in residence and has written a new work that's a portrait of the USA based on WPA travel guides from the 1930s. Last year his musical FEBRUARY HOUSE got rave reviews for its run at the Public Theater in NY.
